Happy Independence day!!
I couldnt find time to blog since a long time but now i dont want to refrain myself from expressing my views on the Diamond year celebration of our Independence. I was expecting the new album from A.R.Rehman after his "Vande Matram-1997". The newly composed "Jana gana mana adhi sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, D K Pattamal, Asha Bhosale, Dr Balamuralikrishna, Bhupen Hazarika, Jagjit Singh, Dr S P Balasubramaniam, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sadiq Khan Langa.
When i heard that A.R.Rehman is composing a new tune for our National anthem, the very first thing i remembered was my good old school days:) When i was in 10Th,on the eve of independence day my music sir was trying to practice national anthem with his Piano. Hope he was in a bad mood that day. When we started to sing we could feel the tune was going wrong, so we stopped and said that the tune is wrong. All of a sudden he said that he is trying to retune our National Anthem. We couldn't control our laughter but our poor Choir group couldn't laugh that time. After our music practice was over we all came out of the classroom and rolled out of laughter:)
But now when i listen to A.R.Rehman's retuned National anthem, I could feel that is an awesome job done by an awesome Musician. Hats off to him!!!
Proud to be an Indian!!!

Hi Kavi, I didnt hear the album can you please send it for me
Good one
Kavi I was waiting for your blog since long time
Kavi... Independence day will never end without elders advising us that we should think of national leaders who were involved in freedom struggle. But I've experienced that it wont come from my heart as I've seen the struggle only in my history syllabus and not in reality. All I know about Independence day celebrations is that I can watch lots of interesting programs in TV and going around the places as its a holiday. Diamond year celebration went in quest of tickets for the movie Chak De India and original audio CD of AR Rahman album. But I havent got a chance to enjoy both yet. Your post has kindled me my urge to listen the album even more. I'm looking forward for my favourite singer SPB's voice. I'm sure that my favourites ARR and SPB combo will rock.
This feeling was there when we were kids but now we have the responsibility to change our society.. so it comes automatically...
